And up on the Butes, with more activities and stalls then ever this year’s Cavalcade turned out to be the busiest and biggest for many years. To make sure everybody was having a great time—whatever their age – the Alderney Week Team provided plenty of entertainment and many new attractions, competitions and events: a special Kiddies Fun Tent and with the bouncy castle, a life-size table football game, ball pit, crafts, and fun contests there wasn’t a dull moment ! No need to go hungry or thirsty either with the Bavaria Beer Tent, Champagne and Bucks Fizz stalls, Burgers, Hot Dogs and Thai Food, not to mention afternoon tea in ‘Ye Olde English Tea Room’ offering genuine Alderney produce—from scrumptious home-made scones , cakes and jam to Alderney milk and cream.
The afternoon show kicked off with the ever super Kfa girls out to entertain the crowds with their glitzy routines which they had been rehearsing for months. Great music from the fabulous Alderney Blowers, And if you were feeling particularly energetic, there was the Tug-of-War and our amazing Bungee Run. Incidentally, the Tug-of-War was won by the Killala Boys and the Alderney Angels pulled it off in the women’s contest. In the children’s category the Urban Stylers were the strongest team.
