A Very Special Island

Alderney is the northernmost of the main Channel Islands, sitting just 8 miles off the Normandy coast of France and 60 miles south of the English coast. It's one of the least-visited of the Channel Islands — which means it retains an extraordinary sense of character, community and unspoilt beauty.

The island is tiny — about 3 miles long and 1.5 miles wide — but packs in extraordinary wildlife, stunning beaches, dramatic WWII fortifications and one of the friendliest communities you'll find anywhere. During Alderney Week, the whole island buzzes with an energy that's completely unique.
